MISSION AND BELIEFS OF RLEO

The Mission of Right Livelihood and Empowerment Organization (RLEO) is to defend, train and advocate for human rights especially to people who are abused or do not understand their rights and live in terrible fear and pain. The organisation advocates for ways in which women, girls, children and the vulnerable groups are protected against any attack, torture or inhumane treatment on their honour. RLEO is there to fight any condition, beliefs, and stands that violate the rights of people.
Right Livelihood and Empowerment Organization (RLEO) is an organization that works with issues of social justice and believes in human rights and equality. The organization works for ways in which human rights are manifested in the everyday lives of people at every level of society. This organization is working towards realization of a society where all members, regardless of background or procedural social justice, have basic human rights. The organization holds strongly that human beings have ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfilment that aspire for their greater good.
The organization believes in social justice and liberties

Political liberties (e.g. representative democratic institutions, freedom of speech and the press, and freedom of assembly).

Freedom is necessary for the liberty and integrity of the person, (viz: freedom from slavery, freedom of movement and a reasonable degree of freedom to choose one's occupation); and

Rights and liberties covered by the rule of law.

POLICY STATEMENT
RLEO strongly holds that freedom, equality, justice and dignity are essential things for the achievement of the legitimate social and economic development aspirations for Tanzanians. RLEO holds that human beings are inviolable. Every human being shall be entitled to respect for ones life and the integrity of that person. No one may be arbitrarily deprived of this right. Every individual shall have the right to the respect of the dignity inherent in a human being. The society shall ensure the elimination of every form of discrimination against people and also ensure the protection of the rights of women, children, albino, people with HIV/AIDS and other people with any form of disability. Every individual shall have duties towards his family, society and legally recognized communities. RLEO recognizes that the rights and freedoms of each individual shall be exercised with due regard to the rights of others, collective security, morality and common interest. Every individual shall have the duty to respect and consider his fellow beings without discrimination, and to maintain relations aimed at promoting, safeguarding and reinforcing mutual respect and tolerance. Every individual shall be entitled to equal protection of the just law.

RLEO will have give special attention women since sex discrimination, female genital mutilation and violence hamper a safe and enabling environment and marginalizes them from accessing freedom, economic resources, information and participation in decision making structures at all levels.
Concerned with the facts above, a group of persons is wholly given to establishing an association such as this to carry out the task of bringing light to those in need. They would prove a life worth of living, thus RLEO has come to be established for that purpose.
